Hungarian artists against homophobia: "Fuck you (very very much)"
A group of Hungarian artists has had enough of the Hungarian homophobia and decided to state their opinion of homophobic people by lip-syncing to a pop song.
We live in the age of video messages, when everyone politicians as well as civil organizations and companies is eager to be present on community video sites which provide an effective and cheap form of publicity. Though not all Hungarian organizations take advantage of youtube and its companions, there are some who do.
A group of Hungarian actors and writers had enough of the verbal and physical insults and attacks committed against gay people, of the discrimination and chose to make a home video to express their opinion. Various artists participate in the video, Piroska Molnár and Tamás Jordán represent the elder generation of actresses and actors, while Sándor Csányi and Iván Fenyő represent the younger ones. Also, Eszter Csákányi (who opened last year’s hungarian lesbian festival, the LIFT), Eszter Ónodi and Adél Jordán are among the actresses and actors lip-syncing.
The video clip was made with the help of volunteers and according to our information was cut (?) by the teenage son of a participating artist. The song lip-synced is „Fuck you” by Lily Allen. You can soon listen to the Hungarian live version at Sziget (Hungarian Music festival in Budapest from August the 12th to the 16th of August). For those interested, the lyrics of the song are under the video.
